A Trip to OKC for Breya's Birthday Pary and to Visit Grandpa Bobbie

After Allie's first soccer game, we headed home to change clothes, eat some food, and then took off for Oklahoma City. Our niece, Breya, was celebrating her sixth birthday, and we went to the party. The party was at a park, which the kids loved.

Bella is such a great older cousin and helper. She has always been good with Rachel, and Rachel loves her. When we got to the park, Bella took Rachel's hand and stayed with her for most of the time.

Allie is at a stage where she goes back and forth between wanting to play and stay with other kids and going off and doing her own thing. She stayed with other kids for awhile, and then she went to a little rock climbing wall...

And then to the swings...

Then she noticed another little girl sitting on a swing. She told me that she wanted to push her. So I told her to ask her if she wanted her to. She asked, and the girl said, "yes," so Allie pushed her. I thought it was pretty sweet of Allie to notice and want to help her out. I'm sure that was helping another mother, too. I know there have been times when I've had to be in one area of the park with Rachel when Allie was just sitting on the swing, wanting me to push her. Anyway, she made me proud.

A little video of it.

Then everyone gathered for singing, cake, and ice cream.

Then everyone lined up to take a swing at the piƱata. The kids lined up from youngest to oldest. Rachel was second in line, and Allie was number three.

Opening presents!
We picked out an outfit for Breya's knock-off American Girl doll. She seemed happy.

I couldn't help but sneak a picture of my handsome man.

It wasn't long before the girls were running off.
There goes trouble.

It just so happened that my dad, Grandpa "Bobbie," was in town to help my sister. She had started a new job about an hour and a half away from home, in the same town that her husband had been commuting to. They were in the process of finding somewhere to live, and wanted to let the kids stay in their schools for the rest of the school year. So my dad came down to drive the kids to and from school, as well as prepare meals. We wanted to take advantage of him being so close, relatively speaking, and Jared took Monday off so that we could spend time with him.

We went for an outing to Bass Pro Shop (to look at the fish) and to walk around part of the Bricktown area of OKC.

Both girls enjoyed looking at the fish.

They enjoyed riding horsies, too.

We then walked along the  Bricktown Riverwalk. It is a paved path along both sides of a river, or a large stream. It was a beautiful day, and we all enjoyed the beauty, as well as the company.

Allie wanted to hug this tree. She's our tree-hugger.

Both girls enjoyed sitting on and looking at the rocks.

Ducks!

There are some neat statues along the walkway. The ones pictured below represent the land rush. Notice how big they are.

Little Rachel

Rachel took a turn holding Grandpa's hand, too.

One last picture to capture the beauty of the day.

We ended by having lunch at Sonic and then heading back home. We all enjoyed getting to spend time with Grandpa.
