March 2013 - Springtime and Easter

Well, to kick off the Spring, we got Buddy fixed. He did really well, though he did not enjoy having the cone of shame on. We couldn't help but think of the movie, Up.

Buddy caught with what became his pink teddy bear.

When visiting the vet afterward, Buddy hid under the chair. Rachel gave him some company. (Allie was at Playschool.)

He was back to playing in no time.

Just another silly picture: Rachel carrying her baby by its feet, in her mouth.

We went for a family walk to Lowe's.
Daddy and Allie in the lead

Rachel insisted on pushing the stroller. We were a bit slower.

Video of her with laptop.

We planted some tomatoes, broccoli, peppers, and sunflowers. The girls enjoyed helping with the dirt and putting seeds in. We got one of the tomato planters that is supposed to hang upside down. Here are some pictures and video of the girls putting dirt into the planter.

Jared built a planter for some of our plants. He also built a dog house for Buddy. The girls had fun playing with the planter while Daddy worked on the dog house.

Putting their babies to bed. Perhaps they thought they were Cabbage Patch Kids?

Proof that the girls don't always get along.

Rachel enjoying her time in the stroller. I think Allie went to time out after the picture above was taken.

A sign that Easter is coming - Mommy's willing to have her picture taken with bunny ears.

It seems inevitable that kids get some kind of injury on their face before family pictures. We didn't plan on having family pictures taken, but Easter is a day on which many pictures are taken of the kids. So in the "getting a face injury" spirit, Rachel fell on her face and bit her lip. Her upper lip got so swollen. It looked really painful.

But she and Allie were both ready to smile the next morning. The Easter Bunny had visited, and both girls were happy with their basket fillings.

Rachel got some cute new sunglasses.

Allie got a cute headband with a bow that matched her Easter dress.

Posing

We colored Easter eggs after breakfast. We prepared the floor by putting plastic bags and large "paper towels" down on the floor. Jared got to bring home a big roll of substrate for baby wipes, so that is like one huge wipe without the chemicals on it. The girls thought it was fun to lay down on them with their babies.

We had several options for dipping the eggs.
Notice Rachel's "cheese" smile.

Some of our eggs

Some more

We have church at noon, so we got ready and went to church after dying eggs. It was a nice Easter Sunday. When we got home, we had the girls change their clothes. I somehow entertained them in another room while Daddy hid some plastic eggs. Both girls enjoyed the egg hunt. All in all, it was a nice Easter.
